Marin Cilic advances to quarterfinals of Rotterdam Open

It took top seeds and 2014 finalist Marin Cilic less than two time on Friday to delivery Borna Coric 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 to enhance to the quarterfinals of the Rotterdam Start in the Holland.

Tied at 3-3 in the determining set, Cilic staved off five crack factors before visiting to the success against his other Croatian.

"Obviously, he was displaying excellent battling soul and I realized it was going to be challenging in that third set," Cilic informed journalists. "I just tried to be psychologically highly effective. Just a few factors created the decision the end result."

Cilic, rated No. 7 on the globe, will now experience 2011 runner-up Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of Italy on Saturday for a set up the semifinals. Cilic has beaten Tsonga five of six periods they have performed.

"I'm definitely anticipating to it," Cilic said. "It will be a challenging coordinate as always. There isn't much that will individual us. We both have excellent provides and robust activities. I'll have to be psychologically highly effective and keep up my excellent golf."

Belgium's Bob Goffin and Czech Republic's Tomas Berdych also managed to get through to the quarterfinals.

Berdych finished France's Rich Gasquet's desires with a 7-6 (4) 6-1 straight-set win. Next up for Berdych will be protecting champ Martin Klizan of Slovakia.

"They were two very different places," said Berdych, who rallied from a 3-1 lack in the first set. "I did not appear for the start. Fortunately I grabbed in a short time, discovered my defeat, then performed a really excellent and hard first set. It was a strong tiebreak for me."

Fifth-seeded Grigor Dimitrov of Location beaten Uzbekistan's Denis Istomin 7-6 (7), 6-1 to enhance and will experience Goffin on Saturday.

Second-seeded Austrian Dominic Thiem defeat Gilles Simon of Italy 6-4, 7-6 (4) in Thursday's other night coordinate. He will experience Frenchman Pierre-Hugues Herbert on Saturday.
