Banks, 25, filed a battery report against the actor at the Beverly Hills Police Department on Sunday.
The rapper decided to report Crowe that afternoon after he refused to apologize for physically removing her from his hotel room, sources told TMZ.

Banks deleted her Facebook post as other claims emerged telling a completely different story from her own.
According to a source, eyewitnesses at the party claimed Azealia was the aggressor and Crowe was forced to carry the rapper out of his room during a private party after she became violent.
The eyewitnesses claim Banks made a bizarre statement directed toward Crowe about slashing his throat and that of another guest with her wine glass.

It is claimed that Crowe had invited about 10 people over to his room to listen to music, including rapper RZA - who brought Banks.
The 47-year-old Wu Tang Clan member had previously worked with Crowe on The Man With The Iron Fist and recently signed Banks to his record label.

According to sources for TMZ, it all began when Azealia snickered at Russell's music selection and called him and another person in the room 'boring white men.'
Then when a female party guest jumped to his defense, the 212 rapper went on a threatening diatribe.
According to their insider, Banks said: 'You would love it if I broke my glass, stabbed you guys in the throat, and blood would squirt everywhere like some real Tarantino s***.'
Witnesses say she used the n-word numerous times and Crowe remained calm until she reached for a glass and cocked it back.

At least four guests/witnesses who gave statements during the investigation used the word 'erratic' to describe Azealia's behavior according to TMZ. They also claim that RZA said she used the N-word and not Crowe.

Banks is no stranger to controversy.
Last month a judge was not too pleased as she failed to appear at her court case in New York after allegedly attacking a bouncer at a nightclub last year.
